Can someone tell me if it is possible to use this with my 722 recorder?
http://cgi.ebay.com/Dual-CF-Compact-Flash-to-44-pin-IDE-2-5-Male-Adapter_W0QQitemZ200504248611
My 722 uses the old PATA drive so if I cannot use the above would it be possible to use this adapter with a SATA SSD drive:
http://cgi.ebay.com/SATA-IDE-PATA-HD-HDD-2-5-3-5-Card-Adapter-Converter-/280578192155?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4153c3731b
What is the downside in using this above adapter compared to using the XL-SATA from SD (which is more expensive $98+shipping - more expensive than a 40GB SATA SSD)
Hope someone can give me some advise.
Thanks

I was looking at the possibility of swapping drives out of SD recorders the other day and came across this

Looks like it's a yes from here (NB the thread runs backwards).
I don't think the controllers on CF cards are made so they can endure as many read/writes as SSD controllers, but I'm not thinking this will be an issue here (it's not running swap files). As long as the card's fast enough to read/write 2 channels there shouldn't be a problem. SD actually advise against using faster drives as there's no performance advantage and they use more power.

Do those use the same hd as the older ipod classic's ? I have a
30gig ipod hd thats almost brand new and a 5th gen ipod with a broken
battery connector . Just wondering if they were the same . Good luck !
