so i just got done making my Bat pack for the UA-5 and then looked at the JB3 and started wondering how much time would i get off of one of the R/C 6v Battery's the njb3 says 5v so would that be a bad thing to make a batt pack or no.
The messagboard's Advanced Search (http://www.taperssection.com/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=10460) functionality is your friend. :) Found using keywords "JB3" and "power":

Wow Bri, its been days since I've seen you wield the powers of the advanced search! Here's a +T just cuz it looks like you're starting to run low ;)
Get the second battery. The only problem is running it at fests. For any 2 set show the 2 onboard batteries are the way to go. It runs at least 5 hours on the 2 batteries

i got about 6.5 hrs off of the 2 batts yesterday testing at home, im doing more battt tests as we speak on a 1000mah, rc battt for the hosa!!!FWIW< this combo would be the way to go, im running outta my aes in the back of the v3, and ill i really need is a rt angle optical cable
ill let yalll know when the jb3 dies w/ 2 batts
6.5 hrs recording i take it?
i never tested mine when i had it to see how long she would record on the 2 internals

yep, im doing it noww/ recording on, optical in,coming from the hosa odl-312, 48k, headphones all the way up, and the hold function on, idle shutdown after 5 mins, 3 sec backlight setting, etc, and GREEN lights
6.5 would be great if you can get that outta it, thats enough for an opener and then most 2 set bands also

and 2 phish shows ;)
Just get several internal batteries. The 1st battery slot is hot-swappable. Just make sure the second one never runs out (swap after 5 hrs, then every 3 hrs thereafter). Better yet, just stop and swap both, surely there's a 30 second gap in a 6+ hr recording session.
And do not use an external 6V battery. It says 5V and it means it. I read that it chokes hard at 5.6V, and can be damaged.
