Anyone interested to build me a pair of mics from two 10mm EM-172 omni capsules that I will ship to destination[http://www.frogloggers.com/FORMgallery4.htm], please contact me indicating cost. These are the M10 caps as I am after same low noise and sensitivity of the M10. Additional requirement is small, flexible right-angle 3.5 jack.
Anyone interested please contact me- rgds

What's wrong with buying the readymade mic pair that the same retailer is offering?

I know it doesn't have the right angle plug, but it's easier to pick up a set and retrofit the plug.
Or are you looking for different cabling? Do you intend to run them on PIP? You know they support 3-wire, one possibility is to go with with a custom mini-xlr CA-9100?
There's a guy called Zach Poff that apparently ordered 10 EM172 capsules for DIY, and came up with some successful mics. Perhaps you could strike a deal with him?

If noone here stands up, talk to the guys over at mic-builders. A lot of discussion about the EM172 recently:

thank you very much for the great information!
I didnt realise they had ready made mics with those caps. the right angle is a minor issue.

Frogloggers mounting of the capsules will probably have some infuence on the sound! EM-173 is perhaps a better choice as it can take some more dB?

Do none of the Church Audio, or any other mics have at least the specs of these $10 caps?

I love the EM-123 caps (snagged 10 of them about 3 months ago and they sound great for mics to keep with the M10). I just ordered a pair of each of the 172's and 173's. Can not wait to get them in hand and try them out!

printguy has a point.
The Primos are good value for DIY projects, but if you're prepared to spend $100 for a readymade or custom-built pair, you might as well start looking at CA-1 and similar offerings...

But printguy asked a question rather than stated an point (see below):
Do none of the Church Audio, or any other mics have at least the specs of these $10 caps?
I would also be interested to know the answer to this for the CA-1 (which I assume is also omni), namely self-noise, sensitivity and max SPL.

If you look through the YS there were a set of CA-1 mics for $75 like a month ago! Good deal
