I just went out to buy a used Datcoder to back up my current one...funny thing is when I get there to buy it off the guy he busts out this ECM 959A and says here this goes with it..: )
So I immediately came home to the site to ask if anyone has used one of these to record concerts and how the mic responds if they had,....I have no manual or specs on this but for $10 hey...thanks for your time in taking a moment to read this
: )

There is a few tapes on Live Music Archive made with the mic.
Check them out too.

I couldn't have asked for a better response to my question...dude thanks for that idea...by sampling the Blues traveller CBGB recording .....I'm ALL teeth
;D

There are obviously better options, but in a pinch it'll do.
Most of those are onstage tapes so take that into acct too.

thanks again....Actually I do alot of recording in clubs so this will be great to try ...I also have my stealth gear..this mic came along outta no where....I'll take it...: )

I keep one of those in my rig-bag as a backup to my ECM 999PR. different connectivity but I carry the cables...
an "alright" mic I think!

It's not a bad mic. I used one during the 1990's for quite a few Toad's Place shows with decent results into a D3 cassette and D7 Dat recorders. I just sold it a few months ago here.

they were pretty decent mics for the price..... i got one with manual and all accessories in the case, brand new..... ive used it to record john prine... actually rigged up a hat that has the head of the mic sticking right out the front of the hat....looks retarded... but in a darkened theater with old fogies to see prine... worked out wonderfully,....
if you need any info from the manual.... you can instant message me here!
