If memory serves, I seem to recall there being a model of Manfrotto Super Clamp (or perhaps a knock-off?) that had a spring-loaded "ratcheting" handle similar to the one on the genuine Bogen/Manfrotto umbrella swivel.
Never saw the need until recently. A tight clamping situation... I got the job done, but another half turn or so of tightening would have made me breathe easier.
Not to mention that turning the handle out and away from foot traffic avoiding clothing snags would have saved me a few worries/headaches.

Smith-Victor makes one and iirc B&H carries them.
