any tips? my ad1000 is dead so it's gonna be 483>dap1. what should I set the analog input to? mic? 20db? what about the limiter? on or off? tomorrow night it's BBQ and sunday night Hot Tuna.

might wanna have the mic pad to -20, but i dont really know!!!
FWIW< ive heard and have KILLER shows from this combo, it soundz a lot better than ppl sometime give it credit for :)

yea and I only pulled 10-15 shows with it.......shouldv'e saved and got a minme.

definantly, i waited the anxiety of buying an ad1k and bought a mme when i found one! worth the wait to know it wont just up and die!

I ran some 461s straight in to the DA-P1 for years and managed to get some great tapes. (Most of the time I would run my D-8 into some Schoeps or Neumann set-up and the results weren't much different than what I got with teh 461s>DA-P1).
Don't use the limiter. I never have, and I have never had any type of overload problems. Also use the -20db pad.
