hey hey,
so, I downloaded a bunch of Phish shows in MP3 format (strictly for my ipod). In the downloaded folders, they are ordered correctly (and numbered). But I drag them to iTunes, they are out of order (basically they have no "disc" number, so track one of what would be discs one, two, and three come after each other.
Is there any way to fix this aside from individually renumbering each track in the info section??? Like I said they are ordered corrcty in the folder.
any ideas??? :)

Load them in foobar, make sure everybody is in the correct order, select all, tagging>scripts>auto track number. Make sure the whole deal is the same album title, too. And delete the copyright and comment tags by deleting the fields when looking at the track properties in foobar. ThaT should do it for ya.

what you can do is highlight each track for disc 1
select get info
label it disc 1 of 3
repeat for 2 and 3
you then can list them in your itunes playlist by disc and they will be in track order as well

And to be clear, you can select and edit the "get info" (metadata) information for multiple tracks at once by holding the command key while selecting the tracks. The place you downloaded them from should've properly tagged them, but it sounds like they didn't.

I put all 82 Phish shows Ive seen on my new 160gb iPod Classic, and I had to re-tag ALL of the songs w/ mp3tag :P :'(
On my 120gb Zune, I didnt need to do this THANKGGOD, because my Zune has ALL of Phish, from 1997>2010 8) There is NO WAY IN HELL that I would re-tag all of those HUNDREDS of shows :P :)

You should check out Dougs scripts. Tons of iTunes scripts there. Sounds like a script to just put the info in the right fields would have helped.
