I have a bunch of Blueline mics and was doing reasearch on the complete line.
They discontinued these OMNI lav mics that seem to have decent specs.

S/N 70db, SPL handling to 130db and 20Hz - 18K
I've never heard of them, and wondered if anyone had any knowledge of the sound quality.
My CK91 and CK93 are phenomenal !
I'll never get rid of them.
I'm curious if these tiny OMNI's live up to the Blueline series quality that I love.
Anyone ?
Secondary question: can the bayonette mount be cut off (bypassing the preamp body) and replaced with either miniXLR or
(2 together) to a 3.5mm stereo jack to a 9V power supply/ preamp ?
seems like they only need 9V to operate.

Igene...IIRC...Chris Church puts microdot connections on the Bayonet of CK91-93 caps and runs them off of his Preamps at 9v...I'm sure someone like Ted or Chris could hook your Lav's to a Mini XLR-3.5mm Mini Stereo plug...

If you are considering cutting off the bayonet mounts I might be interested in them. They would need to have a workable length of wire left on them.

It would be a shame to cut off the bayonet connectors. I'm not sure those mics are any good anyway (compared to other omnis). But if you do get them, I'd love to see "the guts" to find of out type of capsule is in there.
Kirkd: I wonder if you can buy the connector alone. If anyone manages to get "service documentation" for these, you could get a part # and try to order the bayonet connector. The document would probably have information about the capsule too.

Nope you can't even buy the guts parts from the capsule or bodies from AKG. I have part #'s and tried. Although why a supposedly current mic has parts that are unavailable is beyond me.

here's the service info >

My question still stands...
Has anyone used or heard a recording with these mics ?
I'd like to get some opinions before I proceed.
And if I do, the bayonet's can be available kirkd
I'd cut down the wire for stealth use.
It's 10 feet long. I only need 5.
(more on that later when I find out about these mics)
