Title: Sony PCM-M10 record button travel
Post by: thunderbolt on February 28, 2011, 08:39:47 PM
I just received this new.  I notice that the amount of "travel" of the record button is less than that for stop, play or the other transport buttons.  I read a post from another TSer who noted this when it was new, then the record button wouldn't move at all.  Do others notice this difference in their units?  Should I send it back for a replacement?

Thx.

I hadn't noticed it, but now that I've tried it I do think it is a little shallower than the others. As long as it reliably starts and stops recording, I wouldn't worry about it.

I also have the same issue. When I first got it *I THINK* it wasnt like that, but just recently I noticed the record button was a little off (sorta of as if it had been turned into like a touchscreen type button). I sent an email to Sony and they said I could send it to them if they want but I'm considering just keeping it that way. I just hope it doesnt get any worse.  :-\

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it records, it's working.

I have two PCM-M10s and on both of them, the record button is raised higher than the other buttons. It's a different style of button than the play, stop & pause controls, and it's definitely harder to push. One of my decks has been in moderately heavy use since last July, one has only been used a few times.
