Title: Karma K-Micro miniature omni mics
Post by: goodcooker on March 12, 2011, 09:07:34 PM

I picked up one of these on Ebay for $10. Recorded some mandolin tracks with it for shits and giggles and the thing sounds really good. Moved around while playing and the high frequencies are quite directional.
Nice high end bump but not harsh. Might make it a good choice for recording at a distance.

Takes P48

Might pick up another one on the cheap to have a pair but they're only $30 for a matched pair if you buy them direct.

I bought these a couple years ago via the karma website just purely because they were so cheap, and I have heard good things about the K-10's as well. THey sounded decent as drum overheads (my low-fi basement setup). I used one on an acoustic guitar once and I did notice that it sounded somewhat directional as I moved it around the soundhole.

these things are literally the size of a regular straight XLR.
