I tend to tape larger rock shows (low pro) so go with cards, but I'm attending a smaller seated acoustic show - about a 200 seater - where I expect a very quiet crowd. I'm about 10 rows back near the soundboard....I'm tempted to use my omni caps (sort of angled 'A-B' config.) rahter than the cards. I expect the PA to be fairly significant.
Anyway, I've never used the omnis before - do you think this would be an ideal situation for them rather than the cards?

Is this open taping or stealth?

What are the acoustics of the room like? Even though it'll be a quiet crowd with a loud PA, if it's bad room, I'd opt cards. If you were closer to the PA, omnis.

I think it's open taping but I'm going more or less stealth...
Belexes if the acoustics are bad would the omins result in more or an echoey, less focussed thing that the cards?

Correct.
I only use omnis indoors when there is a quiet crowd and the room acoustics are excellent or I am close to the PA. Poor room, farther from the PA, cards would be a good choice.
