Title: Busman mods - PMD-661 anyone?

Has anyone gotten their 661 modded by Busman?

I have just received an email back from Doug Oade regarding upgrading my deck which was not purchased from Oade Bros., saying that he could do it. So now I am trying to see if there are other alternatives.

thanks rastasean - i saw this is the YS as well as other tasty treats...

 however, i was inquiring to see if anyone has gotten their 661 modded by Busman as there are no links on his website.

I would email Busman!!!  I have only seen busman 660, but he may mod the 661.

Sorry if I missed it, but what's wrong with the various Oade mods for the 661? They did a bang-up custom job for me (super mod plus some other goodies to handle my akg 481s) and Doug is very easy to work with. Most importantly the deck sounds incredible - and for many purposes, not just live show recording.  Peace.

No problems with Oade at all, in fact he has treated me very well since the first 7-pin Sony cable I bought back in the early 90's, but the problem is that the shipping from Canada (to and from) is as much as the mod itself! For $300 I can get a LB or put it toward another decent pre-a., or better yet a few cases of my favourite bubbly, hop-flavoured beverages ;D!

Just wanted to see if I could save some quid.

Anyway, Chris hasn't responded to my email yet.

I was going to email Busman but then found this thread on page 2. Is there any information that can be shared publicly before I email him? I see on his site that there are mods offered for the PMD-670 and PMD-671. Maybe the PMD-661 is out of luck?
