Title: Small ORTF T-Bar recommendations

I'm now now the proud owner of a huge T-Bar (DPA UA-0836 http://www.dpamicrophones.com/en/products.aspx?c=Item&category=192&item=24288#description ).  Its great for local shows, but its HUGE!  I'm looking for a small T-bar that can be used for an ORTF configuration and has angles marked on it so it is easy to setup, and can be packed easily in a small bag for when I'm on the road for long stretches of time.

Any advice?

what microphones do you want to use with it? do you have a budget? do you need to be able to adjust the angle or do you only want ortf?

schoeps makes the ums-20, stc-4g and m-100c
k&m makes the 23550

i personally don't like the vark bar because I found the screws to not turn easily on the one I owned. I have a knock off made by a member here that is much better, but are no longer available.

if you have schoeps microphones or dpa 4023 you could use the stc-4 but that commits you to only ortf. i think the k&m bar is just as good as the m-100c for much less money.

Thanks!  I'll go look up these recommendations now.

The T-Bar would primarily be used with a pair of DPA-4011s.  It'd be nice to do something other than ORTF, but I've suggested that as I really want something small and easy as I have a really nice (but big one) for when I'm just going out for the night.

I don't know of a compact t-bar with angle markers on it.  But I do like the AKG KM235 for full-size SDCs.  It's inexpensive, flexible, compact.  And I find it isn't all that hard to eyeball ORTF after doing it a few times.  You may need a small riser to make ORTF possible with full-size SDCs (or run one mic above, the other below, the bar).
