Title: Identifying unknown DPA mic (probably 406x)
Post by: madman on April 13, 2011, 08:51:56 PM
I'm hoping someone can give me some guidance here, I recently got a used pair of DPA mics and I'm not sure what model they are. I have a pair of 4061s and these look exactly the same in terms of size. The serial # tags are still on each mic, but I'm unsure if that helps at all. If take the end cap off the mic, will there be a marking that tells me which model these are? Thanks!

Nope.  All the 406x mics look identical without the grids.  Contact DPA, they should be able to check the serial #s for you.

Thanks! I'll fire off a note to DPA and then test them out and throw em up for sale here or on EBay. Looking at the power connector, these appear to be core sound's "modified" product. I will probably just put them on EBay and hope for the best.
