Anyone know of a site or have a copy Steve Zimmerman's Tapetracker database software? He had it on Tapetracker.com as a free, unsupported download for many years, but that site is no longer active. I'm in the process of transferring all of my DATs to a hard drive, and I'm finding that my labels are sometimes missing a lot of recording info and I know I used to keep a lot of that in Tapetracker. Over the years I stopped needing to use the software, and I stopped installing the software on my computer. I still have my database file, I just don't have the program to run it! I couldn't find it anywhere using a google search.
check out album tracker version 5. I think it basically does the same thing....you can customize it..and re-label the diferent fields.

Thanks for the tip. I'm looking to access my old Tapetracker database to help catalog some of the unlabeled/mislabeled DATs I have as I transfer them to hard disk so I'd really like to get the Tapetracker program.

I have not worked with it very much, but looks promising.

If you haven't resolved this yet, you could try shooting a line to the author himself:

I'm pretty sure it's the right guy, he used to have a netopus mail address back in the days.
I have a copy of the install program. I can post it somewhere when I get home later today.
Holy crow! Now this post in bringing back the memories of the older, gentler days of taping, when tapes were tapes...'twas a very important tool for alot of us.
Where I intended to post the installation file didn't work out.
If you have an ftp site, PM me a temporary login and I'll upload it for you.
The OP was covered several weeks ago.
It's still on one of my pages so if anyone else needs the install program, shoot me a PM.
Note the install program has a 30 day time limit but is fully functional otherwise. You will need to re-enter your registration info to remove the time limit. I can NOT help with the codes and afaik they can not be obtained anymore.
ok cool.
Has anyone succeeded in obtaining TapeTracker for download?
