Title: Need to rename DVD files for proper playback
Post by: keytohwy on May 14, 2011, 05:49:33 PM
I recently met someone via DIME that is video'ing concerts in Sweden and wants to share them, but lacks the ability to make a torrent.  His is english is weak, albeit better than my swedish.  He converted one concert to DVD and has send the files to my server, but he has renamed the files in the VIDEO_TS folder.  Some of it makes sense: band name_1.VOB should probably be VTS_01_1.VOB.  Fine, I have 4 of those.  But he also has a band name_intro.VOB file that when I play it, looks like the main menu screen for the DVD.  I just want to up this for him and share with folks, and not reinvent the wheel/edit a share I really care nothing about.  He's also included the BUP and IFO files...Does thoes include a map/naming scheme to tell me what to rename these files?  I'm close, just gotta get this last piece of info.

Thanks for your help!

I'd guess:
band name_intro.bup ----------- VIDEO_TS.bup
band name_intro.ifo ----------- VIDEO_TS.ifo
band name_intro.vob ----------- VIDEO_TS.vob (Menu)
band name_0.bup ------------ VTS_01_0.bup
band name_0.ifo ------------ VTS_01_0.ifo
band name_0.vob ------------ VTS_01_0.vob (Tiny filesize)
band name_X.bup ------------ VTS_01_X.vob (1GB each)

Whether that will all work in the end, I don't know. But I'd guess that.
