Title: Optical or Coax -> USB external adapter?
Post by: SnowRide on May 20, 2011, 10:21:33 AM
Hey Guys!
t's been a long time since I've come around here!  I recently got a new laptop and was wondering if there is a preferred piece of equipment for patching?  I was hoping not to replace the sound card or dvdr with an internal digital sound card.  Is there an external that anyone recommends?

price range?

If you're just patching, then it might be cheaper to just pick up a usb/firewire interface for a couple hundred or a one of the budget recorders like the Tascam DR-07 or a Zoom H1 or H2.
