sounds like a HDD error

The iriver I have has a cf mod done to it.... I hope it didn't crash bc I had 4 or 5 shows that I've recorded in the past 3 weeks...

Misticriver.net or rockbox.org have info on this error. It may be the daughterboard attachment cable....

Try to restart it with the hold button on.  Then turn off the hold button and try to restart as ram or rom navigating to that selection and press record.  Try all the options and see if one of those work.  Hope that helps

I think they mean the lock slider on the side.  This will bring it up into another menu.

I have seen a CF mod H120 where the CF adapter slid out of the place where it plugs in... the CF card and adapter are smaller than the original hard drive, so there is room for it to become disconnected.  I ended up putting a piece of something in there to keep it so it doesn't slide out again.

At any rate, if you want the shows that are on there, probably the best thing is to take it apart, remove the CF card and copy the data off there via card reader before you mess with the H120 too much.

PS: If you are at your wit's end, mail it to me (Maine) and I will take a look.

I tried putting the cf cared into my microtracker. Plug in usb cable and my computer isn't reading the microtracker drive....

So it sounds as if you narrowed it down to the CF Card then.  That seems like an easy fix...

Is it a easy fix? or Am I picking up on Internet message board sarcasm ???

It sounds like it is the card so all you should need to do is buy a new one, open the unit, and slide the new CF card into place...no sarcasm at all.

i thought you might have been referring to saving the data on the cf card... sounds like i am SOS on the shows i recorder to the cf card

If the card is bad then you lost your shows, but it is an easy fix for the recorder.
