Has anyone ever used Sterling mics? They push them at Guitar Center.
Just wondering.

What I know of these mics is the person who designs and built these mics was the driving force behind the groove tube mics. When the groove tube company was bought out by another company the mic division was folded. Then the original designer then went and started Steriling microphones... ending his connection to groove tube. The mics are chineese built and I believe even still carry the original model numbers of the old groove tube mics.....Thats about all I know of the mics. I have never heard them in action..
OOK

I went there the other day for gaffer tape. Never saw such a shitty mic collection in my life. ALL chinese made stuff. Didn't see one AKG, Neumann or Schoeps.

Most Guitar Centers cater to the consumer hobbyist home recordist, so they stock the appropriate (craptacular) mics.
My local GC does have a nice collection of Blue mics and a couple of Royers in the glass case.
Anything else in there I wouldn't even use to stir my coffee with though. (well, maybe the AKG C1000 would make a good swizzle stick...)

I believe the AKG C1000 would make a better night stick.
