Title: Tascam Dp-004 vs. Amplitude X-Gear Software
Post by: PeterRoss on June 26, 2011, 10:36:11 PM
Hey, I'm planning to record and mix my drums (with about 5 Audix microphones) but I'm fairly new to the world of home-recording.

After some research and a fairly low budget I've decided to get a Allen and Heath Zed-10 Usb Mixer. I read that it has amplitude x-gear software so you can plug it into your computer and edit it and whatnot. I was curious if anyone was familiar with this software and if you can record yourself with it. It's either record myself with this software or shell-out $150 for the Tascam recorder. I'm probably gonna end up getting the Allen and Heath, use the software for a little (if I can), and then buy the Tascam.

Speaking of mixers can anyone think of any with good recording software?
