Title: Studio Projects' C4 storage recs
Post by: JiB97 on July 27, 2011, 09:00:55 PM
just got a set of these. when i used to run these a few years back i stored them in a small pelican case(don't remember which model), which is pictured here:

my question is:  can i get away with storing the bodies AND the now 2 sets of caps in there?  or do I need a bigger case?  which pelican case is that in the picture?

any other storage solution?

looked but couldn't find the dimensions of the older model of C4 body....is it still the same?

could i get away with fitting the bodies and 2 sets of caps in a Pelican 1040?

I'd go with a 2 stick cigar caddy!  Smaller and equally as durable as a pelican case.

If you scroll down on this thread you can see how I use a cigar caddy to store mic bodies and I'm sure you could fit some C4 mics and caps in one.

Another vote for the cigar caddy. They work great!

+2
The 2-stick Cigar Caddy will securely hold a pair of just about any pencil-type SDC on the market.

That said, the Pelican 1040 or 1060 might better fit your needs if you want to be able to comfortably house the mics and multiple caps.  Those cases are still pretty compact; check out B&H for dimensions.

You could also get a 5 stick caddy and house mics and 2 sets of caps not problem, but You could easily house a set of mics and an extra set of caps in the 2 stick caddy.  I can fit my mics with caps and an extra set all in a 2 stick caddy.
