Title: I've got mc-012, at831(cp-cmc-2), and Samsom Mixpad
Post by: Chanher on February 29, 2004, 11:35:34 PM
Should I run a matrix of all of the mics?  If so, what's the best way to get the at831's into the mixpad?  Any other suggestions would be appreciated, thanks  :)

make sure the CMC-2s are properly powered so you don't fry them

I've got a batt box for em, what input should I use so I don't fry them?

EDIT:  dumb question, I guess I'll just use a line in.  so I guess the question should be:  How do I make sure I don't fry the mini mics? by using a batt box?

So it's two of the AT's and 1 Oktava?
The 3 mic mixes I like the most are two cardioids with a single omni mixed in lower than the cards. The AT's and the Oktava's have a similar enough sound that this might be a good sounding set-up.

Yes a three mic mix makes more sense.  I will have to experiment, I would love to try your suggestion with the single omni but I only have card caps right now, I need to order some matched caps from soundroom.  I think I'm going to record some comparison tracks with my home stereo system.  thanks for reply.

Talk to Taylor (SoundRoom) about getting a single omni capsule from him. Sense he dosn't have to match it, you might be able to get one from him pretty cheap. There is a guy that sells different MC012 capsules on eBay too. I've seen him sell the omni capsules. Just do an eBay search for Oktava.
