Title: M Audio Duo USB preamp

Seems to be lot like the UA5 (and similarly discontinued).  Would this need a similar digi-mod to use the pre without the USB out?  Anyone have any experience with how this sounds?

I do its a great little preamp However it only runs on AC power not DC and Its not Buss powered.
