Title: Edirol R09HR Clockspeed
Post by: deviant on September 09, 2011, 05:04:47 PM
Anyone know if the clockspeeds for these are all the same? Was considering picking up a second to use with mics and one with sbd.

Thanks!

Nope, all units (not just the HR) function at a slightly different speed. You can resync them (http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=103031.0) in post via resampling/stretching, but just out of the box it won't work. To do that, you need something that can receive a clock signal off of a normal digital connection (rca spdif/optical/aes), or accepts a Word Clock signal.

Nope, not even close.  You will have to synch.  And there may be drift in the middle too.

Having just done a Matrix, I will tell you that it is a PITA.

Get an R-44 if you want to do this regularly.

Or a DR-2D ;) I'm going to pick one up ASAP so I can run mk41>lemosax + CA-14 Cards>BB :)
