Title: AT 853 Low Sensitivity MOD question

Recently i sent my AT 853's back to SP for the low sensitivity mod.Where is the mod performed(in the capsule or cable...?)there seems to be no difference,anyone know?

It can be performed anywhere between the capsule and the plug (or even inside the mini plug, if you've got small enough resistors to fit in there).  I sometimes do this by running a single cable, say four or five feet, to the plug, and split it to a Y, with about 18 inches of wire to each capsule.  I put the resistors at the "Y" in the cable.  This is simple, but it needs some good reinforcement at the Y junction, several layers of shrink wrap, glue, gaffers tape, epoxy, or whatever else comes to mind...

My *guess* is that SP does it behind the capsule, but I have not heard either way.

I believe SPs is in the body of the miniplug, not in the capsule.
