is the warm mod really worth the extra $200?
-
It's a matter of opinion.
Right now, I am of the opinion that it is not. But as I get money saved and more into taping, I may change my mind...
A lot of whether or not it is worth it to you is what kind of rig you have. It might be that you don't like the Warm sound, so it would be a waste of money for you. You may decide you prefer the Pres. mod which is the same price, but a different mod.
I would recommend testing a Digi Mod, a Warm Mod, and a Pres Mod with your rig and hear which you like the best...

I believe the presence mod is a bit more expensive.

Pres mod - $550
Warm mod - $500

blightman,
I just bought the digimod for now. You may find that you like the sound of that, and don't want to spend an extra $200 for the mod for now. And then by the time you want to upgrade you want to spend the cash and get a v2 or v3?!?! So unless your budget allows for an extra $200, i wouldn't go for it. Especially if it means taking $200 away from your mic budget...
just my .02

just go for it.. i'v heard that it is a huge step up from the digi mod. i've never used a digimod myself, but from what i've heard the wmod or presence make it much better. i'd say spend the cash, get what you want. don't cut corners, cause you will have to make up for it somewhere along the way, if you stick with taping, which you most likely will. so don't judge anything on money, save, and get what you want if you have to.. peace.

If you're getting it from Oade I'm pretty sure that you can send it back if you decide you want the warm mod later on.
