Title: Mme problems.....
Post by: kennedy on March 04, 2004, 05:44:59 PM: so im taping rebirth a couple of nights ago and i decided to run it real hot for shits and giggles, twice during my recording the preamp just turns off never have had this problem before
im still getting power but i have to hold the switch again for the 48v
wtf? im hoping its not internal.....anyone else seen this?
my levels clipped a little but no steady over, this could be a problem? im out of ideas ant help would be grately appreciated

Post by: AttorneyatLaw on March 04, 2004, 10:16:59 PM: I would bet your bag got kicked and the phaton disengaged. As in the silver switch got pushed. Try to recreate the situation, but chances are that is what happened. I had it happen once about 6 months ago...after a bag boot!

good excuse to grab another pre though :)

Presumably it became engaged again such that when you looked at your bag the green light was still on but you had to turn phantom power on again. Had this happen to me in my apt on a test drive within a day or two of buying it. 5 minutes later I mounted the thing inside a cage in backpack so that it could never get jostled again. It's been perfect ever since. I've been meaning to get some pictures of this as it pretty much elminates all the shitty things about the ergonomics of the box but haven't gotten around to it, yet.

im running a rackgear now, but IF i keep the mme, i would like a better situation with it in my bag like it is...

i used to bowl/drink about 3 times a week, now that i actually have a job and are more broke then when i didnt, i havent gone in months :Pbut always phun ;D
