Title: HELP: Fake AKG 460?!!!!!
Post by: eclark on October 19, 2011, 06:50:30 PM: I bought a single AKG c460b preamp from eBay recently and I think it might be fake. It does not match the feel, look, or construction of the real AKG I have. I'm hoping if you can tell me if it is fake or not.

One with the three switch and one with the single switch.
It looks as if you have one of each there.
The older ones have the three swithces.
The newer ones had the single.

A lot of people have the single switch ones but every now and again you'll see the earlier three switch.
That 3 switch looks immaculate BTW. Did you open it?

does jw even do the mod anymore, and if so, is it reasonably priced?
