Post by: sexymexi on March 05, 2004, 04:59:59 PM
hey, anybody have any experience with vintage guitars.  i'm gonna be selling a few here soon, and i was looking for online resources, and emailing people who deal with vintage guitars.  Anyone have any experience, or have any links to sites that would benifit my research? any help is much appreciated. thanks

In NYC:
http://www.mandoweb.com/
http://www.umanovguitars.com/

It's been said, just like car dealerships, they sell high and buy low.
So if you price inbetween that, you'd be in the middle.  ;D

I wa a vintage guitar dealer for eight or nine years. It was a hobby, mainly, but I sold nationally through display ads in Vintage Guitar magazine and did three or four shows a year. Bought and sold a couple hundred guitars, probably. Moved to Boston area in 1997 and quit the business, keeping a dozen or so great guitars and 10 or so great amps.

Happy to help you any way I can. Tell me what you have, including conditions, originality, dates, etc., and I'll try to give you some idea of value. Can make suggestions about how to sell 'em, too, if you want.
