Title: D50 problem with memory stick pro duo HG

So I ordered some memory sticks for my D50 and they sent me the wrong ones. I just ordered the stock Memory Stick Pro Duo.

They ended up sending me PRO-HG Duo HX Memory Stick.

According to http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/product-PCMD50/ (http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/product-PCMD50/) the D50 supports HG but doesn't mention HX.

Anyhow when I put these in the D50 it says "Unidentified Media". However if I format the card I can record on it.

I'm trying to get the company to send me the cards I ordered but am wondering if these can be made to work. Perhaps a firmware upgrade? Anyone have any idea?

There are no firmware updates for the D50/M10 and I doubt there ever will be.

The Pro Duo II cards work fine with the D50 and are the cheapest of sony memory sticks.
