Title: So many options...AT853Rx,ADKsc-2,Etc.
Post by: Scooter on March 09, 2004, 12:21:51 PM
So i'm looking to get some mics, got about $350>400 to spend.  Been looking @ AT 3031, AT 853Rx, ADK sc-2, Rode NT3.  These would go into Samson Mixpad>D8.  The at853rx would be cool cause they could be stealthed as well as put up on a t-bar.  The 3031, sc-2, nt3 would be nice for the double duty aspect of using them for studio use as well as taping...  I haven't seen many folks using AT3031, the specs look alright, anyone use these??  I need something that can take high SPL as well, i'm tired of getting crunchy tapes at way loud shows.  Any thoughts??

I like the  Audio Technica`s  3031 -3033 Miks very much. I never heard so quiet miks.
Changed all Caps to Polypropylen and the Lytics to Rubicon Z/ZL.

Definitely check out the Nevaton mce 400.  I used it for "double duty" and it is certainly the best value for new you can get in your budget.  P.M. TNJAZZGRASS and he'll hook you up!

I heard god things about the Nevatone 400 its is maybe a bit sweeter in the highs as the DPA 4060 this is  quasi an standard for many recordings.
As I have allready the DPA 4060 I would not change it  and personally think all ohter brands has more noise. But its a bit cheaper, For an excellent cheaper Omni look for Rode NT45 Capsule it works with NT /5/6/55 bodies.

Here isa good review of lavaliers exept the Nevatons:(
