Title: Dime error
Post by: robotaper on December 10, 2011, 09:09:09 PM
I'm trying to seed on the Dime.  I've been getting the following error:

*Announce URL of your torrent must be http://bt.dimeadozen.org/announce.php*

Any tips on how to update this setting?

First, I suggest you email the DIME mods at dimemods@dimeadozen.org.

Second, the error is due to the fact that when you created the .torrent file, you did not indicate the correct announce URL.  Simple as that.

don't bug the mods on this one. When you go to create your .torrent document using your bittorrent client (vuze, uTorrent, etc) make sure to use that "announce" address for any torrent to be seeded to 'Dime.

Once you upload it and Dime accepts it, you'll need to download a new version of the .torrent file, and start seeding using that so that Dime can track your uploads and apply them to your share ratio.

Morst is correct. You can create the torrent easily using TLH. Ensure to select the Dime tracker for the announcement URL. Upload the torrent to DIME, then once that's done you need to d/l it. Just be sure the path your Bittorrent program uses is correct (where the actual torrent file you u/l to DIME is located).
