I did line in with those...with no problems...only problem you will have is if the bass pushes them it will cause distortion...

you will have to run the M1 around 7-10, but you should get pretty good levels, only other issue I can think of is if the show is really quiet, I could see the crowd clipping the levels...

Hey Marc.... I almost always use them line-in -- it seems to give more play with the levels. Also, the battery box is a bass roll-off which should eliminate any distortion problems. The AD-20 also helps get rid of overage.

only if the mic is not overloading....but this should not be a problem at a dylan show...but for a kid rock show...well dont get me started....

FWIW, the Sony DAT deck mod from Oade does a great job at stopping this problem. It gives an extra 20db to the recorder and stops a lot of overloading. Of course, it may not help the mics.

Perhaps this has changed with some of the newer battery boxes, but the bass roll-off only works when going line in.

FWIW: I always ran my 943's line in.

You got it Chapper.  The rolloff frequency is a function of the input impedance.  When you switch to line in, the rolloff frequency drops so low it's inaudible.  I can't remember the impedance for an m1 (? 4700 and 47k ?)   That would mean the rolloff occurs at 1/10 the frequency that would occur on mic in.

umm Never knew that. Would this effect running mic in on a camcorder?
