Over in the Yard Sale, I often read about people saying their mics have been stored in air-tight containers or similar such things. I live in a very humid area - should I be storing my microphones (CAs and Bussman BSC-2s) in some special way? What parts of the mics (if any) are sensitive to humidity? Caps, bodies, electronics,...?
I have a dessicator I can probably store them in, if needed.
Thanks,
scot

They should have a desiccant when stored in a closed container. If you are in a very humid area, yes, I'd use a desiccant and store them in a container. Since you are in a very humid area, you want to make sure your desiccant is charged, or recharge it.
Fungus will even grow on the glass in camera lenses, ruining them. A saying among photographers is that bags are for transport, not storage. A lot of people don't know about lens fungus, but it seems like it's more of a when, not if. This is a huge factor when buying used lenses.

OK- I've got a professional dessicator I store my lenses in. I'll make room in there at least for the BSC-2s. The electronics should be OK - just the collettes and capsules are sensitive, I imagine. Right?
