Title: Mojave Audio MA-101fet Stereo Pair
Post by: OOK on February 14, 2012, 02:30:24 PM
Has anyone every tried these...I was wondering how they sound for what we do.....  I really interested how these sound with a jensen transformer built into the mics.....   Looks like there is a decent mid-range bump and a another bump around 100hz.... these mics probably thump, but maybe too much.  Probably not good for a bommy room, but probably excellent for a bright sounding room...

I was intrigued by these recently too.  Couldn't find anything on the archive to listen to.  I'm guessing the 100-200hz hump is gonna sound fat.  The 5khz hump on the card might sound a little shrill on some sources, like running stage lip in a situation where you are getting too much cymbals anyway.

I've read that a few years ago when ADK came out with their basic A51 model, Dave Royer sold a kit to convert it to a tube job.
