My torrents on etree have been up loading slowly!! How can I speed up torrent??

Seriously though, we'd need a lot more info. What speeds are you expecting (or did you used) to get and what speeds are you actually able to get? Who is your ISP and what upload speed do they guarantee at the tier of service you pay for? Have you tried running a speedtest (http://www.speedtest.net/) (with nothing else running) to see what upload speed you get there? Have you tried rebooting any or all of your computer, router, ISP modem?

Everything fleish said, plus what bt client are you using? Most I've seen have a way to set upload speed caps. Could those have possibly been set?

I'm using charter and Utorrent! When you get back maybe we can get it sorted out. It's uploading just really slowly.

Did Utorrent update itself and change settings? It really shouldn't change settings.
I never update. I am still using 1.71. You can try rolling back to an older version.
That's what I would do if you didn't change anything.

if you're gonna use an old version 2.2.1 (I think) is great and stable. its the last version before 3.0 and all the bloat.

I've been hearing vague rumblings of complaints about diminished speed with the 3.xx versions. Totally anecdotal, and no clue yet as to the reason or any fixes. Not enthused with the bloat.

After mine updated to 3.x, I found that an upload limit had been imposed automagically in the Utorrent settings. Removing the limit gave me back my speed. Also, goes without mentioning that your upload speed is dependent on the download capacity of those downloading the torrent. I.E. if it's an older torrent with lots of seeders and few peers, you won't be adding much and won't be seeing real upload speeds.

Not that I was actively considering using Utorrent (Transmission FTW), but after reading this I would never consider using it. Total software FAIL.
