Wondering if anyone can give me a little advice here. Currently i use the ECM719 but i've been thinking of upgrading to something a bit less bulky, the ECMCS10 looks good but i'm wondering if it sounds better/worse or on par with the ECM719. Has anyone here had experience using both? Any advice appreciated, thanks :)

I'd say (no experience with the ECM-MS10) it's gonna be worse. Read customer reviews on amazon.com : the mic is noisy and I don't think it has been designed to record music at all but interviews, speeches, lectures.
Bad idea. Keep recording music with the ECM-719 and if you really want to upgrade, keep in mind you'll have to spend at least 100/150$ to improve your sound.

It's not so much the sound i want to improve on, i don't want to downgrade on the sound either obviously and the 719 gives good enough sound, it's the size i'd like to change. The 719 is a tiny little bit on the bulky side, it's not huge or anything but in stealth situations smaller is always better so i was just curious if the smaller MS10 would deliver, or if anyone could recommend a smaller mic around the 719 and MS10's price range (about $50) :)

I don't think you can get anything stealthy and reliable for a $50 budget, unless you build something by yourself.

To avoid distortion in loud SPL situations, you'll need at least a microphone and a battery-box (remember the ECM-719 uses a battery).
Browse the Soundprofessionals website and see what you can get for $50 :

Minimum budget : $100.
