Title: Repair/replace cables on DPA4061s
Post by: hobbes4444 on April 04, 2012, 03:00:11 PM
A couple of years back I purchased a set of 4061s in the YS that were mint except for an undisclosed patch in the cabling.  As far as I can tell, it turned out to be a not so hot patch job by one of the usual suspects that deals extensively in DPAs.   I don't want to go through that again, after waiting 6 months for a replacement capsule on my original 4061s.  And I know the folks up in Canada are really busy.  Anyone here have the capability of either re-repairing the wires or replacing them to the heads of the capsules?  I have a quote in process from DPA. But, last time I checked with them they wanted way too much to do the job, and I suspect it will be a similar price now.  It's just I have a hankering to use these along with my AT933s and my newly acquired Tascam 2D for an upcoming show.

Cheers,
Dave

You just need a cable splice? I would suggest Ted Gakidis and he's much more pleasant to deal (and does better work) than Len ever could.
