what is needed from the lineout on the recording unit...... is it better to go through a laptop or an iphone...... could someone give me a step by step instructional guide for each....

laptop > iphone.

The ADC and processing in current gen smartphones blows comparatively.

I use a Digi out of my SD744 into a laptop via an old VX pocket. 

To get out to the Internet I use a Verizon Hotspot or the venue wireless if available.

Works great, obviously not low profile . . .

I know coloartist sometimes attaches an iternet booster antenna to his stand.

using cell service, how many kbps are you getting?

Ive been wondering about this as well. Always wondered how pholks stream the big Phish shows these days to the masses :)
