Title: Naiant microphones
Post by: jibooer on April 08, 2012, 01:24:17 PM
As we all know by now, Jon can build some serious gear, and his service and knowledge are spot-on. However, can somebody chime in with their experiences with the Naiant line of microphones? Build quality, sound, comparisons, you know, the usual.

I have being thinking about a small footprint blumlein solution, would the U-8S be something in contention?

Funny, I've had the same question. Jon is not a big fluffer of his own gear, and it appears not many of us run his stuff... Yet.

Bean, was that with the busman? That sure is purdy.

Well I made my own inquiry with the man himself and he has a remote capsule system for his fig.8 (U-8S) caps to be used with the U-X or one of the other amplifiers with an extension cable. It might be worth a try to get a small footprint and still get the blumlein effect.

now, now...LOL. The man is busy building everyone's TBoxes and PFA's...and answering my inane questions!

I like what I see in the selection and I am intrigued by the design, especially the 3.5mm connection to the capsules. No more threads, pins or tabs. How they sound is another story. On the other hand, if they work as well as the other products we might have a winner flying under the radar.
