I'm thinking this is what needs to be done. I recorded to my D-7 last night for the first time in a year or so and the tape plays back with all kinds of drop-outs and diginoise on my DA20. It plays back fine on on the D-7 though.

Around $100 at Pro Digital....and that includes a oil change, tires kicked and a good cleaning.
