I have searched this forum thoroughly and could find no answer on these microphones http://www.rodemic.com/mics/m3. I realize you get what you pay for I just want to know if these microphones would work with outdoor music (i.e. Jammy Type Festival). I will be using them with my Roland R26 recorder, if anyone has another suggestion for similarly priced microphones ($149 ea) that would be a big help. Thank You In Advance :0)

Can't comment other than they look a lot like AKG C1000s, for whatever thats worth....
If you want to go a little over budget this seller is selling two AT 4041s which are very mics mics.

For that budget, Avantone CK-1s are hard to beat IMHO. Many examples can be found on LMA.

in general, I'd look at what other mics people are using on this board and on the LMA, and get one of those types. There are plenty in your budget that tapers use regularly. I don't think I've ever seen those Rode mics in a lineage. Doesn't necessarily mean they're bad, but that means nobody knows what they sound like for concert taping. The graphics on the link you sent show them being used as a drum overhead ... which may or may not mean they're good for what we do.
Avantone CK-1, Studio Projects C4, used AT 3031s are popular choices in that price range.

What he said. If you pick a known setup from listening to samples on the archive, you know what you are getting. If you pick an unknown setup, you get to be the guinea pig. I'm not saying we should all run the same thing, but it's a good idea for a newbie to have early success by picking something that works. Otherwise they get frustrated and quit.
