Hi everybody!
I own this IRiver from a few years back, recently the battery started to last very little. I bought a new battery for replacement for ebay (following instructions from other posts). I managed to change the battery pretty easily, but now I'm trying to charge it and I think there's something wrong.
When I plug the charger the green light turns on, but only for a few minutes, then it turns off. I try to turn the Iriver on but it's completely dead. When I plug the charger again I can turn the Iriver ON and I get the screen with the full battery and plug symbol (I don't remember if this was the same before). Any ideas as to what I might have done wrong?? Trying to get this ready as a back up recorder... as I missed a couple of shows after lending my primary recorder to some friends.
Thanks in advance for your help!!

I seem to remember having to flip the polarity of the battery I bought on Ebay for one of my Irivers - ie take the little connector off and reattach it upside down.
I think this was a battery that was marked as being for a particular generation of iPod - maybe it's something to do with this?

Thanks yousef! I changed the wires on the battery and it seems ok now. It charged pretty fast, but I left it plugged all night and I'm testing it right now, it's been recording for 2 hours and the battery is still almost completely charged =)

That's some Grade A advise. Nice fix.

That's good news - I'm happy to hear that nothing got fried when the battery was connected wrong...

Well, thankfully nothing bad happened when plugging the battery incorrectly... Looks like it's perfectly working now, it charges pretty fast and I got 4 hours recording with the indicator still at 50% capacity =)
Thanks for your help!!!
