I put an ISO in the YS for CA-14 omnis, but that occurs to me as not really being what I need. What I am looking for is some cheap P48 mics that I can use to hang over a stage or at stage lip or a similar location, like many clubs use as their house mics. This would be a semi-permanent, 3-day or so install during a multi-stage, multi-venue festival, and then I'd probably look to unload them, so I don't want to spend a lot. Quality-wise, the neighborhood of the CA-14 is all I'm going for. These will probably be mixed with SBD feeds as well, but it's going to be a limited SBD feed. I need a balanced signal going to the mic as it may be a long cable run. A cheap PZM-type mic that could be placed on the stage itself would also potentially work.
By "cheap" I mean hopefully in the $125/pair range. I'm aware of stuff like the Little Blondies, but they are $125/ea. If I bought those, I'd be keeping them. Size and feature-wise, those look just about perfect, though. I seem to recall there being some other shotgun-shell based brand, but I forget what it is... EDIT TO ADD: Oh yeah, these: http://www.12gaugemicrophones.com/red12.html Anyone used them? The price is definitely right.
It seems there is an abundance of cheap omnis, and as it's not something I've really looked for, I really don't know where to start. These will be for rock shows, so high SPL tolerance is also important.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, if you have some beaters lying about that you'd like to sell, or even rent to me for a week, by all means, PM me.

I have no experience with these, they just came to mind when I read your post. Karma K-10 cards seem to decent from what I've heard on the LMA though so maybe these are too. Don't know if Jon at Naiant still has any of the omni offerings he used to that might fit your bill.

What about naint omni's, small, cheap and can be matched and be probably 100 a pair... You know your getting quality too.
Peace OOK

Yeah, that is looking like a good option. I sent Jon an email.

I'm absolutely giddy about the omni's I picked up recently.
They are the latest version of the Audix Micro omnis. I run them on a essentially a Church/ Audix cable into a Church STC-9000.
I'm having Jon at Naiant make me a PFA to run them on P48.
The last two times I ran them, I liked them over my Gefell M300's!

On the Haunted Windchimes recording I did nothing in post other than set fades. No high pass EQ or maximizing.
On the Wendy Woo I did a high pass at 63Hz in CuBase and used WAVES L1 to make up the gain lost in the high pass.
They sound natural and clear to me. I can't believe how good they sound for making audience recordings outside. I haven't tried them indoors yet.
