Title: ISO SD card advice for Edirol R-09HR
Post by: blackcatbone on September 08, 2012, 09:25:49 AM
Good morning
Some questions regarding SD cards  i am hoping someone can answer.
1. What is the best SD card to use in an Edirol R-09HR ?
2. What is the max size SD card recommended for R-09 ?
3. What is the lifespan of an SD card?
4. How many uses of a SD card before replacing it with a new one?

Thank you for your responses.

What are you using for the R09HR or the R-09, they are two different machines.  The R09HR can take up to 32 gigs where the R09 can only take up to 8 gigs i think.

I have an R09HR and have had great luck with PNY cards.  Others have used Sandisk without any issue, transend, patriot.  just get your card from a trusted online retailer.  I use B+H..

I have never worn my card out and only have replaced it to get a bigger capacity card.  I ran a 16 gig card for a long time and only recently went to a 32 gig in my R09HR.

Peace OOK

I am using an Edirol R-09HR. I currently use a 16 gig Dane-elec card and have had no problems with it.
Thank you for your help.

I've used 16G Sandisk SDHC cards on the original R-09 with the latest firmware (v1.31) and SD adapter.

The downside of SDHC -> SD adapter is it's one more thing that can fail/break.
I've been through some rough crowds without issue, though.

The upside of having SDHC cards now is I can use them in other devices in the future (PCM-M10) or even use the SDHC card in my smartphone as a backup.
