Title: Odd question
Post by: mblindsey on September 13, 2012, 11:29:34 PM
I have a 1/8 in. input in my car stereo.  I also have an old rock boxed Sansa that plays flacs and won't die.  The problem is, the output is quiet low.  I've often wondered if I could use my ca 9100 to boost the signal.  I think it might work, but what about the ~9v plug in power? Can that wreck electronics?

Thanks,
Michael

Use one of these my man :) I have one and use it ALL THE TIME w/ my 160gb iPod Classic. Since our typical recordings arent as loud as a compressed album is, it boosts the volume to a very nice level via headphones. I have also used it in a car like you want to, and it worked just great.

It has an internal rechargeable battery and is very small and lightweight. Not to mention cheap cheap cheap ;D 8)

Best of luck, and if you do end up buying one, please mark this thread and tell everyone how well you like it 8)
