Title: Newbie shockmount question?
Post by: jesse on March 19, 2004, 04:35:30 PM
I was wondering if all shockmounts terminate in a Universal female threading size or if they are all diffrent.   I have a pair of superlux SMK-H8K that came w/a very unsatisfactory T-bar.  What I was wondering, if I buy a AKG KM 235  T-bar can I still  use my Superlux HM-32  shockmounts?

my km235 has 5/8 standard threads on it if that helps.
I coudn't find any specs for the HM 15 that came in your set

The bolt that fits my shockmounts is 3/8 which is the same as the center mount on my T bar.  I noticed in all the pictures of the T and Vert bars that the bolts looked bigger than mine damn!  Mabe I could get an adapter 5/8>3/8?  Oh well.   If I do end up having to get new shockmounts anyone know any reasonable priced ones that would fit  my smaller mics.

Ya it looks like the adapters are already in.  Cool I'll go ahead and order up the AKG KM 235.  I just wanted to make sure my shockmounts were going to fit this bar before I ordered it.  On most of the sites I looked it up on they said it was 5/8 on the center attachment but didn't say a size on the ends.   Thanks alot.
