Title: Fix a "clipped" recording?
Post by: Since85 on September 25, 2012, 10:48:23 AM
Hi,

I have been going through some old masters, and I have one with a hot input signal, that clips on bass thumps. Is this fixable in post with a plugin like Izotope RX, or Sony Spectralayers? Would any other program work for this type of an issue?

Thanks for any advice.  :)

Not really no. You've introduced distortion and committed it. You can make it suck less, but it's not easy, and generally not worth the effort.

Take a look at http://www.cutestudio.net/index.php?missing=1

I do not see how you can reverse clipping but some guys have reported better sound with cutestudio.
