It has the same power indicator as the first generation m118/48 pre's. It appears to have stepped gain. What are the steps?
I'm wondering if it uses the jensen transformers like the other cooper products i.e. cs-104.fuck, i wanted to get away from two boxes

It goes from 20 to 70db's of gain in 10 db steps- I'll let everyone know how it turns out- the guy I got it from bought it and never got a chance to use it- not one minute

Not real sure yet. I'm thinking V2 or maybe the 316 in the yard sale now. I can run it off the same 12V as the 500e.
Either way I'm about 300 bucks short at the moment. In the next week or 2 I should be good to go. As long as I can find what I want.

I'm putting the $$$$ for the V2 aside. Hoping I can scrounge enough up for callery's 148 real soon before it's gone.
honestly- i cant immagine why you would buy the 316 other than for the novelty that its old. ive heard some studio stuff done with it put next to the grace 101 and the v2- i have a very very hard time telling the difference.
It's also a little big IMO never heald it so maybe I'm wrong. The only reason i considered buying it was to run off the same 12V as the 500e.
It's a cool unit. But I'd rather have a V2.
