I just bought a Tascam DR-07mkII on Monday. Recorded a friend's band in the studio last night. Recording sounds very good.
Problem is, no way to get files off Tascam and onto one of my computers. I've tried on two different macs. four different USB ports. Three different USB cables.
WTF?

I don't have the Tascam but recommend creating file folders on your recorder to actually record in, your mac should recognize the files when they're in a folder. I've always used a separate folder for each gig for organizational purposes with my recorder. Turns out people who didn't do that had the same problem you are experiencing because they appear to the Mac as hidden files without a folder.
Alternately, here's how to see hidden files on an SDHC card in OS X Snow Leopard which may work for you.
- Insert card into your computer or card reader hit (command) (o)
- highlight the card in the list the list that pops up
- with the card highlighted hit (command) (shift) (.>) and they will appear
- hitting (command) (shift) (.>) again will hide them again
You can toggle show/hide the hidden files back and forth in this manner.

So Pesky, how'd this turn out for you?

Does it not see the tascam as a device/drive, or it does see that but you don't see any files?
If it's the former, check to see if the tascam supports USB Mass Storage mode or if it's just MTP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Transfer_Protocol)/PTP modes (which Apple has trouble with). If it's the later, I'm stumped based on the information you've provided so far.

One post and MIA, we may never know his end result.

Can't speak to the '07, but I have a '05 and haven't had a problem on my MacBook Pro.
